Mark Mendes

Mark Mendes is a talented DJ/Producer that strives to create music that bears substance and encompasses originality. He has the status as one of the most forward-thinking house music producers today. Originally a DJ, he began producing electronic music, following in the footsteps of his uncle, Matteo DiMarr aka M1. Since then, Mark has released a string of unique productions, including his massive original hit, 'Beneath You'. Having remixed the likes of Martin Solveig, Dave Spoon, Fedde Le Grand, Funkerman, EDX, John Acquaviva and many more; they are absolute works of amazement. Mark's music can be found on his 'Starter Records' imprint, as well as top labels Toolroom, Ultra, CR2, Mar186, News, Definitive, Cinnamon Flava (DIY Italy), and Noir Music. If that's not enough, his recent remix for electro pop star Martin Solveig is due for debut shortly.

His tracks have featured on a number of BBC Radio 1 shows, including Pete Tong's Essential Mix, Pete Tong's In New Music We Trust, and In New DJs we Trust. Mark's music has been played by the likes of Axwell, Dirty South, Dave Spoon, Mark Knight, Pete Tong, David Guetta, Kaskade, Fedde Le Grand, Funkerman, Steve Angello, Robbie Rivera, Eddie Haliwell, Tocadisco, Tom Novy, and MANY more.

Mark Mendes and close friend Alex Kenji have been known to put out releases together. They have been able to hit the charts with such tracks as 'Take That Sax', and have also worked on more underground tech house tracks such as 'BOM'. The collaborations between these two started out organically and are never rushed, and so it can be heard in the music. Mark and Alex are currently working on more projects together, so be sure to look out for these!

Mark Mendes' collaboration with close friend Mike Jacinto of their new hit 'Molly' has been felt in clubs all over the world, and has quickly become one of the biggest tech house tracks of 2010. It has received massive support from Fedde Le Grand, Mark Knight, Steve Angello, and many more. They now are being recognized for their follow up, 'Tokyo 207', which has been a hot topic amongst blogs and forums.

Beatport.com listed Mark Mendes as one of 2010s breakout Stars from The Winter Music conference in Miami. Quoting Beaport: 'Beatport is back from another killer WMC, and we're excited to announce the acts that made serious waves. From tech house to progressive and electro, these musicians had everyone's ears buzzing'.

This month, Beatportal released a prestige article, recognizing Mark Mendes as one of the top producers under the age of 25, alongside fellow young DJs Avicii, Afrojack, and Skrillex. Such high recognition shows Mark Mendes' quick rising of success and how he has quickly become one of the main contenders, as both a DJ and electronic artist.

Mark has spent the last two years developing his record label, 'Starter Records'. In addition, Mark began his own syndicated radio show 'Starter Sessions' and now is syndicated all over the world on channels in over 20 countries. Mark's radio show has received rave reviews, as he takes listeners all over the world with him by recording his international DJ sets. In all of his DJ sets, Mark delivers crowd pleasing DJ sets and really connects with the crowd, whether he's live at a massive festival or playing a more intimate venue.
